RATES & POLICIES

Payment & Insurance

Regular sessions are $185 for 50 minutes.

The first appointment only is $285 for 60 minutes and includes all intake documentation, therapy plan and client portal set up.

Skills for Life currently does not bill to insurance, however, an invoice (or "superbill") can be provided which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please call your insurance company’s customer service line on the back of your insurance card to determine eligibility. Skills for Life is unable to verify reimbursement criteria.

Payment is taken with a credit/debit card at the time of service through your client portal. Clients receive access to a secure, convenient, online client portal for all paperwork. Here clients can also log in anytime view statements and superbills, set text or email reminder preferences, or update contact information.

Confidentiality

Protected health information is confidential under HIPAA. For minors under age 13 a custodial guardian must give consent for therapy, and parents by default have access to relevant content in their child's therapy. Parents are encouraged to be involved. In Washington State, minors may receive confidential mental health services without the consent of a parent or guardian if they are 13 years of age or older. With that said, Skills for Life makes every effort to include parents of minors 13 and over in the treatment process. We believe maximal benefit from therapy cannot be attained for children without caregiver involvement. We promote this communication from the first appointment, and coach children and parents on how to increase productive family dialogue. All therapists must report suspected abuse, neglect, or imminent harm according to state law. Copies of these and other policies will be provided before beginning counseling.

Cancellations & Late Arrivals

Cancellations or reschedules are accepted 48 business hours prior to an appointment. Please DO reschedule or request a confidential video session if someone is sick and contagious. Late arrivals will be treated as regular sessions at full price and will finish at the prescheduled end time.

Thank you for your patronage.
